Working faster and a better service thanks to new ERP package

Van Der Lans

Van der Lans International imports and distributes top quality fresh fruits and vegetables in Europa. The company from Baarn controls the complete process from grower to consumer. To get a better understanding of and more control on this process, Van der Lans recently decided to revise their outdated automation situation. Together with Schouw Informatisering, they will implement the ERP package Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 in combination with the fruit and vegetable specific functionalities from the add-on SI Foodware Fruit and Veg. Through the implementation of this standard solution, the organization aims to get better support in its daily operations.

BETTER SERVICE FOR CUSTOMERS AND SUPPLIERS

Jan van der Lans, director at Van der Lans International, addresses the objectives of the project: “We want to be able to provide our customers and suppliers better service. The current system does not offer sufficient support within critical processes, for example in the area of consignment management. Due to missing functionality we often rely on Excel to calculate costs and revenues. With the new solution, we will soon be able to complete the payment towards international shipping agents more quickly.”

WORKING FASTER

Another important objective that Van der Lans would like to achieve is faster entry of sales orders. Jan van der Lans: “We think that it can be done quicker. By implementing NAV 2013 R2 combined with SI Foodware Fruit and Veg, we will soon get a quick overview of available quantities when approaching consignment stock. Also, working with multiple concurrent users will no longer be a problem for the performance of the system.”

MICROSOFT DYNAMICS NAV 2013 R2

Van der Lans International will work with the latest version of Dynamics NAV, namely NAV 2013 R2. They are currently working with an old version of Dynamics NAV with lots of customization. With the implementation of NAV 2013 R2, they intend to stay within the standard functionality as much as possible so they can upgrade easier in the future. Jan van der Lans: “NAV and SI Foodware offer a very rich base of functionality for a fruit and vegetable trader. Implementing this standard solution is a strategic choice, so that we can keep on growing in the future.”
