One month ago at WPC 2015, Microsoft announced to its partners the arrival of the newest version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Formerly known under the work name “Corfu”, Microsoft wants Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 to become the cornerstone of Microsoft's cloud offerings. This new version will probably be released this fall, but we can already give you a first look of the new and enhanced features:
Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 provides a further improved integration with Office 365. With Power BI it is possible to easily analyze Dynamics NAV data. NAV 2016 databases can be deployed on Azure SQL Server. Resulting in a better "on" Azure experience.
There are usability enhancements for desktops, tablets and phone: With NAV 2015, Microsoft already introduced the tablet client, but with the release of NAV 2016 a version for phones will also be available. This new feature really makes it possible to connect to your ERP on any device and anywhere.
NAV 2016 will work natively with CRM Online
e-Everything; electronic invoicing, OCR, and the ability of third parties to add in their own data sources (for example: exchange rate lookup)
Workflow enhancements including process automation, which allows easy customization via events introduced into C/AL (business language)
New financial functionalities include posting preview, deferrals and Positive Pay (for US)
