Ondertekening Special FruitPatrick Maes, Managing Director at Special Fruit is looking forward to the next chapter in the good relationship with Schouw Informatisering: “We like working together with the people from Schouw Informatisering. They know our business and are very involved. Since the beginning of the cooperation in 2005, Schouw Informatisering involved us in the development of standard functionality in SI Foodware. At the moment, the Fruit and Vegetable specific version is being developed and again, along with a few other customers of Schouw, we are taking part in this process.”

Specific support request from customers in combination with more stringent laws and regulation, force Fruit and Vegetable traders to further automate their business processes. These factors are taken into account for the development of the functionality of SI Foodware Fruit and Veg. according to Patrick Maes: “We want to achieve specific inventory control, which enables us to keep the service for the customer in mind, such as registration and management by date, time and product properties. But also with the increasing demands of customers in the area of quality and certification.”

For the various governments, Special Fruit has to take into account the grower registration and the tracing of products and packaging, KCB and FAVV checks, quarantine capabilities and required documents. In addition, they also want to have the flexibility to maintain their logistics including allowing and providing insight into conflicts, such as changing quality. Patrick Maes: “We must be able to react to situations quickly. With SI Foodware Fruit & Veg we do not need any more workarounds with regards to these factors. The inventory can be monitored from one central application very effectively. That saves us a lot of time and money.”
